About the position

The Manager of Performance and Analytics at American Express will lead efforts in marketing analytics, investment optimization, and performance management within the Global Commercial Services (GCS) Marketing team. This role focuses on extracting quantitative insights to help channel owners refine their investment strategies and improve marketing performance. The position requires collaboration across various departments to ensure consistency in reporting and to provide strategic, analytics-based guidance during planning sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely across GCS Marketing, GIO, Finance, etc. to ensure consistency in reporting.
  • Understand and document the drivers of marketing performance, both quantitative and qualitative.
  • Provide strategic, analytics-based guidance during broader strategic planning sessions.
  • Develop reporting tools and visualizations to highlight marketing performance.
  • Deliver insight-based, multi-channel marketing investment strategies.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in data analytics or related field.
  • Excellent Excel skills with experience in data analytics.
  • Proficiency with Tableau and SQL/SAS is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thought leadership with the ability to extract data insights.
  • Excellent project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Data Science, Operations Research, or Statistics.
  • Experience in multichannel marketing.
