You will be accountable for various business strategies, functional or operational areas, processes, or programs. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and develop a team of professionals, setting clear direction and deploying resources across multiple projects. This includes participating in organization-wide initiatives while providing guidance and expertise as needed. Your focus will be on driving technical and operational excellence through thorough problem and opportunity analysis, planning and estimation, code reviews, and the development and enforcement of technical standards. It is essential for managers in this role to understand the operations of other business units, align their goals with organizational objectives, and manage budget and profit/loss responsibilities effectively. In this position, you will design, develop, modify, adapt, and implement solutions to meet information technology needs through both new and existing applications, systems architecture, and applications infrastructure. You will review system requirements and business processes, and engage in coding, testing, debugging, and implementing software solutions. Your leadership will extend to providing technical mentorship to a team of DevSecOps engineers, Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), and other technical engineers, guiding them in the design, delivery, and support of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, which will include security, monitoring, and alerting components. You will also be responsible for developing policies, procedures, and standards aimed at optimizing operational activities to drive efficiency and achieve continuous improvement, measured through key performance indicators. Addressing technical or analytical skill gaps within your team will be a priority, as will translating projects into actionable outcomes, adjusting priorities, and aligning tasks with team capacity. Additionally, you will develop and communicate a multi-cloud FinOps framework to ensure financial accountability in cloud operations. In terms of technical operations and infrastructure, you will lead all aspects of designing, provisioning, and managing cloud infrastructure and other technologies necessary for application deployment and scaling. Ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of applications will be critical, achieved through the implementation of standard processes for monitoring, alerting, and incident response. You will drive the implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines to automate software builds, tests, security, and deployments, while also developing platform tools to enhance developers' daily interactions with their development environments. Your role will also encompass system reliability, where you will partner with engineering teams to validate that designed solutions meet non-functional requirements such as availability, performance, security, and maintainability. Collaborating with development teams will be essential to ensure that reliability considerations are integrated into the software development lifecycle. You will lead efforts to optimize system performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks, latency issues, and other performance-related challenges. In the realm of security and compliance, you will work closely with security teams to integrate security practices into the DevOps and SRE processes, ensuring compliance with established security standards. Implementing security measures such as access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management will be part of your responsibilities. You will also define and implement incident response processes, including communication plans and post-incident analysis, leading incident response efforts to ensure rapid resolution and minimize impacts on users and business operations. Post-incident reviews will be conducted to drive improvements based on lessons learned.
