About the position

The Premium Accounting Manager at American Income Life is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the Premium Accounting department, which includes premium application and oversight for Globe Life and its subsidiaries. This supervisory role involves managing a team and ensuring timely processing of payments, account reconciliations, and reporting, while also identifying opportunities for system and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all areas of Premium Accounting, including individual and group bill payment processing, daily balancing, account reconciliations, and auditing.
  • Monitor daily inventory and production in Premium Collections CCG.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure deadlines are met and payments are processed timely.
  • Complete various daily, weekly, and monthly reports for senior management analysis.
  • Conduct monthly coaching and yearly performance appraisals of direct reports.
  • Review and approve payroll, production levels, and quality for groups under direct supervision.
  • Collaborate with IT/technical personnel for testing improvement projects.
  • Identify system and process improvement opportunities and implement them with management.
  • Assist with research issues from departments such as General Accounting and Customer Care.
  • Monitor cost per unit throughout the department and identify causes of changes.
  • Work directly with banks and third parties, including Debit Success for New Zealand business.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Management.
  • Some travel required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Experience in high volume processing/remittance processing/accounting preferred.
  • Experience in completing, analyzing, and summarizing reports.
  • Management experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Accounting & Reconciliation concepts.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a project, including testing and implementation.
  • Previous leadership/management experience.
