About the position

The Manager within Private Client Services (PCS) at A&M is responsible for providing a variety of accounting and support services to multiple clients, particularly focusing on high net worth individuals and private companies. This role involves overseeing accounting processes, managing financial transactions, and developing trusted relationships with clients to deliver personalized solutions. The position emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and collaboration within a team-oriented environment, while also supporting the professional growth of junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide multiple clients with a variety of accounting and support services.
  • Review and oversee accounting processes, including timely posting of financial transactions to the general ledger.
  • Manage the accounting functions for specific families, including accounts payables and ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Review and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts and document business transactions.
  • Manage and reconcile bank accounts and various expenses.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages for clients with related work papers.
  • Assist in preparation of annual tax packages and supporting documents.
  • Establish, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting control procedures.
  • Develop trusted relationships with clients and collaborate to resolve issues.
  • Supervise, develop, mentor, and motivate Associates and Senior Associates.
  • Manage workload and deadlines for team members, focusing on quality and efficiency.
  • Manage client calls to understand critical areas and apply tax technical knowledge.
  • Create concise and complete deliverables that address client needs.
  • Clearly communicate work plans, project objectives, and timelines to project teams.
  • Encourage open expression of ideas and seek diverse perspectives.
  • Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client businesses.
  • Assist with business development and create proposal materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Private Client Services/Family Office/High Net Worth accounting.
  • CPA or Licensed Attorney certification.
  • High level of integrity and respect for confidentiality.
  • Proven experience leading and managing work streams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in QuickBooks.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
