About the position

The Manager, Private Equity Fund Accounting position is a critical role that involves overseeing multiple client relationships and ensuring superior client service through effective management of a dedicated client service team. This position is based in either West Orange, NJ, or Wilmington, DE, with a hybrid work model that requires one day in the office per week. The working hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship, and flexibility regarding time on-site or time zone may be necessary based on business needs. In this role, the Manager will be responsible for delivering fund administration services to private equity funds. Key deliverables include reviewing accounting records, financial statements, and support schedules in accordance with GAAP and OCBOA standards. The Manager will also oversee the preparation of SBA compliance reporting, including SBA Form 468, and review capital call and distribution calculations and letters. Additionally, the Manager will review waterfalls and partner capital account statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Coordination with the Investor Services team is essential to ensure timely and accurate deliverables. The Manager will also play a significant role in career development, supervision, and training of staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment. Daily interactions with clients and team members will be a key aspect of the role, along with managing internal responsibilities such as filing, status reports, and time tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple client relationships ensuring superior client service with client service team members.
  • Review accounting records, financial statements, and support schedules (GAAP & OCBOA).
  • Review SBA compliance reporting, including SBA Form 468 preparation.
  • Review capital call & distribution calculations and letters.
  • Review waterfalls and partner capital account statements.
  • Coordinate deliverables with Investor Services team.
  • Oversee career development, supervision, and training of staff.
  • Engage in daily client and team member interaction.
  • Handle internal responsibilities such as filing, status reports, and time tracking.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Accounting is required.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Experience in Private Equity portfolio/investment and partnership accounting required.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IF/THEN, XIRR, SUBTOTAL, ROUND, named ranges).
  • Investran experience preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and perform tasks under strict deadlines.
  • Experience leading a team, delegating, training, and supervising staff.
  • Experience managing client relationships.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
