About the position

The Sr. Manager, Product Development & Procurement is a key leader in the Aerospace division, responsible for developing and implementing the company's strategic vision. This role involves providing procurement support for new product development projects in collaboration with Sales, Engineering, and key customers, while also implementing SIOP initiatives across the division. The position requires strong leadership in supply chain management and coordination with various teams to ensure successful product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the owner of Supply Chain Management Excellence for Aerospace Product Development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Sales, Engineering, and Operations to ensure successful product launches.
  • Ensure compliance with supply chain policies regarding product placement, lifecycle changes, and master data management.
  • Analyze supply base capacity and establish optimal supply chain design and project timelines.
  • Partner with Materials Leaders to translate customer demand into accurate forecasts and ensure proper inventory levels.
  • Identify cost-to-serve options to optimize profitability and customer delivery.
  • Coordinate and improve the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process.
  • Lead scheduling discussions to align production plans with customer demand.
  • Report on Supply Chain KPIs and take actions to improve performance where necessary.
  • Act as a liaison between various departments including Customer Service, Sales Administration, Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Logistics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, or a similar field.
  • Minimum of ten years of Supply Chain experience, particularly in new product development and product lifecycle management.
  • Strong project management skills with effective communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP).
  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, Project, and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing background and technical knowledge to read design prints and specifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA degree is desirable.
  • Experience with materials change management and engineering change control.
