About the position

The Manager, Procurement Operations at AARP is responsible for overseeing the procure-to-pay process and managing the purchase card program. This role involves maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and analyzing procurement data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. The position plays a critical role in facilitating small dollar procurement actions and managing high-volume agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders regarding procurement-related PeopleSoft activities.
  • Manages the procure-to-pay process, including overseeing purchase order and change order processes within the PeopleSoft application.
  • Maintains key business unit, supplier, and staff relationships, resolving disputes and managing escalations.
  • Delivers quality customer service by researching inquiries related to invoices, payments, requisitions, and purchase orders.
  • Works closely with the outsourced Accounts Payable department and internal Accounts Payable contacts.
  • Collaborates with internal audit to ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Manages corporate card contracts, overseeing negotiations and policy exceptions.
  • Leads the team to foster strong morale and open dialogue.
  • Manages the review and execution of non-disclosure agreements, maintaining the NDA database and coordinating with General Counsel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of procurement experience.
  • Proven experience managing the procure-to-pay process.
  • Strong background in overseeing buyer functions within procurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate high-volume agreements.
  • Excellent judgment with advanced analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 7+ years of procurement experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle or other ERP procurement modules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
