About the position

Figma is seeking a Design Manager to lead the Design Experience team, responsible for the Figma editor and its features related to editing and design systems. The role involves managing a team of designers, collaborating with Product and Engineering leads, and advocating for product areas across the organization. This position is ideal for someone with technical skills who is newer to people management but eager to enhance quality and execution within their team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and hire a group of world-class designers of all experience levels
• Partner with Product and Engineering leads to build great products and improve team processes
• Develop a perspective on product areas and advocate for it across the organization
• Run and improve team processes like critiques and sprints
• Advance skills in people management in a supportive environment

Requirements

• 3+ years of people management experience in Product Design
• Experience working on technical products or complex systems
• Exceptional skills as a craftsperson and the ability to teach others
