About the position

The Product Development Manager at Amerock will lead new product initiatives across various categories, including cabinet hardware and bath accessories. This role is pivotal in driving product strategy, managing the product lifecycle, and ensuring successful product launches through collaboration with multiple departments and channels. The position requires a deep understanding of market trends and competitive analysis to align product development with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple new product development projects adhering to Stage Gate process
  • Collaborate with Director of Product to implement a product development strategy and multi-year roadmap
  • Define timelines and ensure successful execution of product development projects across multiple channels
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure product launch success
  • Lead competitive product and pricing analysis efforts
  • Own the project management of all stages of project from start to finish
  • Proactively communicate project status, timelines and roadblocks effectively
  • Track and communicate financial results of new product initiatives
  • Monitor and control project budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Identify potential risks in the product development process and implement strategies to mitigate them
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate innovative solutions into product development
  • Own the product lifecycle/discontinuation process in alignment with product strategy
  • Analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement
  • Continually evaluate product development process and implement improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Engineering, Product Management)
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in product development roles
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Strong experience with Stage Gate and Product Lifecycle Management
  • Experience working across multiple sales channels
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with project management platforms
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with products positioned from opening price point through premium/luxury price points
  • Experience in merchandising, including planogram experience and vendor management
