About the position

As the Manager, Product Development- Commercial (CT) and Utility Trucks (UTE) for the Mid-Atlantic Region, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and engaging customers who rent light trucks, utility trucks, and utility trailers across various sectors including infrastructure, government, and transit. Your primary objective will be to enhance the company's market share and cultivate key strategic accounts within the region through a consultative and solutions-based sales approach. This position requires a deep understanding of sales strategy and product knowledge to establish new customer relationships while nurturing existing ones. You will collaborate closely with local and national sales and management teams to drive revenue growth for CT & UTE within their designated areas or targeted accounts. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert, leveraging your manufacturing, operational, and sales experience in the utility industry to provide guidance both internally and to customers. You will focus on developing the CT & UTE product and service offerings tailored to specific customer segments and geographical areas, aiming to drive incremental profitable growth. Your responsibilities will include formulating and presenting strategic fleet solutions that align with individual customer needs, identifying vertical growth areas, and monitoring project prospects. Additionally, you will be tasked with prospecting and qualifying new strategic accounts, including those from existing branch accounts and dormant or non-customer accounts, as well as competitor accounts. Working closely with District and Branch operations and sales leaders, you will promote the full offering in the commercial and utility line of business. You will also partner with key resources to develop a training structure for sales staff, ensuring they are well-versed in product offerings. Utilizing company software such as Sales Force.com and other CRM tools, you will provide visibility and monitor productivity, while also staying attuned to market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business expansion. Your role will support overall efforts in partnership with Key Accounts and Strategic Account Managers to drive regional and branch account revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage customers renting light trucks, utility trucks, and utility trailers.
  • Increase market share and grow key strategic accounts through a consultative sales approach.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the utility industry to provide internal and customer guidance.
  • Develop and present strategic fleet solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Partner with internal sales roles to identify growth areas and monitor projects.
  • Prospect and qualify new strategic accounts from various sources.
  • Collaborate with District and Branch operations and sales leaders to promote offerings.
  • Develop training structures for sales staff focusing on product familiarization.
  • Utilize CRM tools to monitor productivity and provide visibility.
  • Understand market trends and customer feedback to identify business expansion opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 7+ years of sales management experience with large accounts, preferably in light/medium duty truck rental or utility industries.
  • Experience in manufacturing, operations, and sales within the utility industry.
  • Strong networking and sales lead development skills with the ability to influence decision makers.
  • Excellent leadership, customer service, communication, presentation, negotiation, and research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be highly motivated to succeed.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and/or similar sales data/technology tools, and familiarity with FW Dodge and MS Office.
  • Current valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to travel 70% within assigned territory.
