About the position

The Manager of Product Development and Production at Spanx is responsible for overseeing the entire product development and production process, from concept ideation to final product delivery. This role focuses on driving innovation, quality, and efficiency in apparel manufacturing, specifically for bras, panties, and hosiery. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of products that meet cost and aesthetic expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage product life cycle from concept ideation to final garment delivery.
  • Execute and deliver on all key T&A dates and development deadlines.
  • Analyze costing during the development process and conduct final price negotiations.
  • Attend fit sessions from concept to TOP approval.
  • Partner cross-functionally for garment construction reviews and final approvals prior to production.
  • Lead weekly Cross Functional Team meetings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve product development milestones and margin goals.
  • Deliver all development samples on time for line reviews that meet cost and aesthetic expectations.
  • Manage Purchase Order process to ensure timely ordering, production, and shipping of products.
  • Support sourcing strategy and manage daily vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in production/sourcing role.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Understanding of product development, production, garment construction, garment costing, and fabric construction.
  • Experience with bras, hosiery, and/or underwear preferred.
  • Results-focused with strong attention to detail and effective time management skills.
  • Creative problem solver and strategic thinker.
  • Ability to provide cross-functional leadership and influence peers.
  • Clear communicator with adaptability to different situations and personalities.
  • Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Suite (Office, Excel).
  • Experience with international travel to garment factories and fabric mills.

Nice-to-haves
