About the position

The Manager of Product Management at Ally Financial is responsible for leading a team of associate product managers, driving product innovation, and ensuring successful product launches. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to define product strategies, prioritize features, and monitor key performance indicators. The manager will also provide mentorship and support to team members while representing customer interests and analyzing market trends.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of product managers, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Define and implement the product roadmap aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to capture requirements and prioritize features.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Define and track key product metrics to measure success and impact of initiatives.
  • Provide technical and analytical guidance to project teams.
  • Take ownership of project development and implementation, serving as the main contact.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and share insights with the team.
  • Support product development activities such as user mapping and sprint planning.
  • Facilitate Go to Market activities for new products or services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Solid understanding of the product development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching products from conceptualization to market.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience in the automotive or remarketing industry.
