About the position

In this role, you will support the ongoing management of global product assortment, and the development and delivery of global portfolio strategy, 3-year newness calendar, and innovation pipeline. You will help define and shape differentiated product positioning and marketing strategies across all categories of business. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Product Marketing, you will ensure the portfolio strategy aligns with the brand's pillars of innovation and high performance, enhances the overarching brand story, and drives growth and market share across key accounts and regions. The ideal candidate is an analytical, forward-thinking, innovative product marketer, who is ‘product-curious', has passion for the beauty category, is agile, and self-starting. The role requires a blend of strategy and creativity. Diligent project management, and ability to self-prioritize is critical to achieve deadlines, while maintaining an exceptional attention to detail. Superior communication skills and confidence in managing varying levels of stakeholders is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of 3-year product roadmap, spanning global new product launches, regional/channel/key account exclusives, and sampling initiatives - ensuring all align with strategic brand and commercial direction
  • Perform regular category analytics and assist with articulation of long-term category evolution strategies
  • Support Sr. Director with preparation for Monthly Calendar Meeting and Product Viability Meetings
  • Collaborate with Product Development on new product briefs, differentiated product strategies and ingredient/formula performance narratives, with focus on core franchises and purpose programs
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure all category launches meet financial objectives leveraging pricing, COGs, forecast guidelines and deliver against original concept, backed by clinical/consumer testing support for respective category/project agreed upon with Sr. Director
  • Conduct competitive pricing analysis to support the global pricing strategy for respective category/project launches through collation of key insights, and performance data from Ecommerce, International, Retail, Sales
  • Support development of all written communication relating to product strategy, including product story, naming architecture, pack copy, and differentiating benefits and claims information
  • Lead ongoing competitor and industry analysis and reporting, to help identify white space opportunities, and strategies to enhance existing portfolio
  • Perform regular analyses of own product and category performance relative to goals and competitive trends, utilizing POS and NPD/Circana data; help develop tracking tools and dashboards as necessary
  • Remain current on consumer trends and market innovations across all relevant industries, bringing vision and insights to innovation pipeline discussion
  • Track and analyze product sales and consumer feedback, ensuring key insights and learnings are identified for immediate action, messaging opportunities as well as future product strategy evolution
  • Assist with development and execution of consumer surveys, interviews and testing protocols, to inform category strategies, generate product performance insights, and formulate effective positioning strategies
  • Manage creation of MPF documents to be distributed across the organization that define key product messaging points to support 360 go-to-market teams
  • Manage creation of Launch Bulletins, Press Sample Allocations and Distribution Lists
  • Develop and manage briefs for collateral/gifting/promotional programming to help support the needs of sales channels
  • Support development of various retailer and other B2B marketing presentations and collateral

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product marketing, preferably in the beauty industry, luxury preferred
  • Strong understanding of the beauty and cosmetics industry, including product and consumer/social trends, consumer needs and behavior, and competitive landscape
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Ability to read and interpret market research data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work from Corporate Office at least 60% of the time.
