About the position

The Product Marketing Manager for Gladiator at Whirlpool Corporation is a pivotal role responsible for leading the marketing strategy, product development, and product management processes for the garage storage system line. This position is integral to driving growth by identifying needs-gap opportunities within the existing product portfolio, overseeing the development and introduction of new strategic products, and managing product performance in the market. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including brand, shopper, sales, engineering, and supply chain, to ensure successful product launches and sustained market growth. In this role, you will develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans for various product categories, including Cabinets, Wall Systems, Rack Shelving, Appliances, Workbenches, and ancillary categories. You will lead the end-to-end product development process from ideation to launch, ensuring that products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Identifying target markets and relevant consumer segments based on market research and consumer insights will be a key responsibility, as will defining product positioning, value propositions, and key messaging to differentiate products in the marketplace. Additionally, you will guide the launch plan development with a cross-functional team, establishing clear objectives and accountability for KPI setting. Monitoring product performance, gathering consumer feedback, and making data-driven decisions for product enhancements will be essential to your success in this role. You will also be responsible for communicating project status, key milestones, and challenges to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring coordinated and on-time delivery of all launch activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans for Cabinets, Wall Systems, Rack Shelving, Appliances, Workbenches, and ancillary categories.
  • Lead the end-to-end product development process from ideation to launch.
  • Identify target markets and relevant consumer segments based on market research, consumer insights, and sales performance.
  • Define product positioning, value propositions, and key messaging to differentiate products in the marketplace.
  • Develop and validate product concepts and specifications based on thorough market research, consumer insights, and competitive analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineering to translate consumer insights into technical product specifications, ensuring products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Guide launch plan development with a cross-functional team, establishing clear objectives and accountability of KPI setting.
  • Ensure coordinated, on-time delivery of all launch activities and communicate project status, key milestones, and challenges to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the product life cycle, including monitoring performance, gathering consumer feedback, making data-driven decisions for product enhancements, and managing updates, improvements, and phase-outs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years combined experience in product marketing, product development & innovation, brand marketing and/or adjacent role
  • Experience developing and leveraging consumer insights to define product opportunities
  • Experience leading projects involving cross-functional teams
