About the position

As a Manager, Product Owner for Data Center Operational Technology Systems at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects while managing a high-performing team of product owners. Your role involves overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from scoping and evaluation to deployment and growth of critical software applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive measurable performance gains and ensure alignment with business objectives, all while fostering a culture of safety, security, and resiliency within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-performing team of product owners responsible for scoping, evaluating, and partnering to deploy and grow business-critical first and third-party software applications.
  • Establish a reliable and visible cadence for program reviews, decision making, prioritization, and resource management, whereby improvements are measurable and the impact can be felt organization wide.
  • Drive measurable program performance gains correlated to execution velocity. Establish governance over prioritization decisions to ensure alignment with key performance indicators.
  • Be a change advocate responsible for initiating and leading organizations through pivots needed to address shifts in business trends and priorities.
  • Lead strategic planning framework for a complex program including direct influence over resourcing decisions, planning cadence, and planning stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 3 years of experience in leadership role(s) with/without direct reports.
  • Experience working with Environmental Health and Safety or security product development and support.
  • Experience working with data systems, warehousing, querying, or modeling.
  • Experience working with SCRUM or Agile methodology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in SCRUM.
  • 6 years of experience in leadership role(s) with direct reports.
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with product development lifecycle from ideation to launch.
  • Experience owning product backlog, feature prioritization, and product roadmap.
