In this position, you will manage the software development lifecycle (SDLC) using Agile methodologies, ensuring that your team effectively identifies and mitigates impediments. You will be responsible for assessing resource needs, managing project scope, and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines. As a leader, you will coach and mentor team members, guiding them through their professional development while managing all aspects of work to achieve key milestones and product release dates. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Release Train Engineers, and scrum teams globally to ensure the quality and timely delivery of product releases, patches, and change requests. Your role will also involve effective communication with stakeholders regarding deliverables, routine tasks, and escalations. You will report on work status and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), conducting Root Cause Analysis to enhance team behaviors and processes. Additionally, you will coordinate with other leaders to identify and address cross-module gaps, perform project activity and financial planning, and ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. As the point of contact for stakeholders, you will create and implement project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives, while also preparing statements of work and monitoring performance. Your ability to anticipate and manage changes to projects will be crucial, as will your skills in developing presentations that could lead to expanded business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage software development SDLC using Agile methodology
  • Identify and mitigate impediments
  • Identify resource needs, and manage scope/resources/priorities
  • Manage team members and provide coaching/mentoring
  • Manage all aspects of work to achieve milestones and product release dates
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Release Train Engineers, and scrum teams globally to ensure quality and timely delivery of product release/patches/change requests
  • Manage and lead a software engineering team of cross-functional individual contributors
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders on matters of deliverable, routine tasks and escalations
  • Report on work status and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); conduct Root Cause Analysis to improve team behaviors/processes
  • Coordinate with other leaders to identify and address cross module gaps
  • Perform project activity and financial planning, tracking, and oversight to ensure project(s) are completed on schedule and within budget
  • Point of contact with stakeholders on the projects within the assigned modules
  • Create/implement project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives for projects
  • Prepare statements of work for project engagements and monitor performance
  • Determine need for and impact of changes in scope of project and make recommendations based on determinations
  • Gain concurrence, approval, and consensus from stakeholders regarding the various project aspects
  • Manage costs/schedules/quality by overseeing project deliverables
  • Perform ongoing review of project status; identify project risks and develop, recommend and implement risk mitigation solutions as approved and as appropriate
  • Interface with team members and stakeholders to anticipate/manage changes to projects (technical/business requirement, schedules, etc.)
  • Develop and make presentations that could lead to expanded business opportunities and participate in proposal efforts and sales calls to enhance opportunities for future business deals with clients.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Engineering Manager experience
  • 7+ years of Project/Program Management experience
  • 5+ years of scaled Agile methodology and tools
  • 3+ years of working as a Software Developer/Engineer/Architect
  • 5+ years of experience managing IT resources (teams of 12+ members)
  • 5+ years of project and organization financial management
