About the position

The position involves securing and retaining business through proactive sales activities directed at decision-makers within existing and new clinical sponsors. The role requires providing technical advice and sales support, developing market-leading solutions, and managing long-term relationships with clients. The individual will assist in RFI/RFP responses and proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Actively prospect and leverage potential new business opportunities within specified potential new and/or existing Customers/Accounts.
  • Network in the industry to establish relationships and identify potential opportunities.
  • Work with Sales Management to identify and prioritize target Account opportunities for each prospecting cycle.
  • Ensure appropriate strategy/solution is proposed to customers.
  • Monitor actions and results against plans.
  • Continuously monitor status of leads and opportunities to maintain a pipeline of opportunities.
  • Coordinate with GBO to develop proposals.
  • Report all sales-related activities in the CRM system.
  • Prepare sales activity reports for Sales Management as required.
  • Identify target customers, markets, and services that match the company's capabilities.
  • Participate in the analysis and definition of efficient, cost-effective, and creative solutions for customers.
  • Prioritize current opportunities to align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Provide support for standardized and creative proposals in response to customer needs.
  • Follow up on proposals to customers.
  • Maintain customer, proposal, and contract database/tracking systems.
  • Monitor actual versus contracted performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop relationships with both traditional and non-traditional customers and markets.
  • Assist customers in understanding the technical aspects of IQVIA capabilities and help close business.
  • Maintain an advanced technical understanding of IQVIA service offerings and provide best practice advice throughout the sales cycle.
  • Work across service lines and with sales teams to cross-promote and respond to RFPs.
  • Facilitate marketing and strategic links among company business lines.
  • Handle customer inquiries and requests for information in a timely manner.
  • Support sales and marketing services by attending and participating in trade shows and industry conferences.
  • Identify and provide strategic information to support Business Development's annual plans.
  • Refine pricing algorithms to facilitate and standardize the proposal budgeting process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, science, or related discipline.
  • 7 years related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Solid understanding of the principles of drug discovery and development.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite; MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Outlook, and Internet).
  • Excellent understanding of business and industry trends relevant to the business.
  • Excellent analytical skills in assessing and interpreting customer business data.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain demanding timelines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
