About the position

The Manager, Production Operations at Royal Caribbean Group is responsible for overseeing the planning, research, and development of the shoreside rehearsal operations and fleetwide cast changeover strategy. This role involves managing the administrative readiness of production cast agreements, logistics, documentation, and ensuring timely arrivals for rehearsals and shipboard assignments. The manager must adapt to unforeseen challenges and maintain effective communication across various departments to ensure smooth operations and minimal disruption to guest experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees strategic planning of the annual fleetwide cast changeover plan for 28 ships/55 venues.
  • Works closely with Casting, Artistic Integrity, and Wardrobe operational teams on shoreside rehearsal and shipboard installation planning.
  • Oversees shoreside studio rehearsal timeline and requirements.
  • Effectively communicates cast changeover and installation annual plan for the entire fleet.
  • Oversees development and distribution of Production Show Installation Schedules for all cast changeovers.
  • Coordinates with rehearsal logistics, studio operations, and casting teams to resolve rehearsal operation challenges.
  • Reviews strategic plan against deployment concerns to ensure successful cast change planning and execution.
  • Liaises with Entertainment Newbuild to ensure sound operational plans for new ships and productions.
  • Identifies operational challenges and facilitates discussions with the entertainment leadership team for optimal solutions.
  • Supports production operations administration team in identifying operational needs and aligning organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Theater, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
  • Experience in the entertainment industry and cruise industry is a plus.
  • Expertise in interpersonal communication skills in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent logical and critical thinking skills with strong research and analysis abilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to creatively tackle challenges under ambiguous circumstances.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and innovative thinking.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, and Smartsheet.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
