About the position

As a Manager of Production at EssilorLuxottica, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the technical management, supervision, and control of our industrial production processes. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor workflow in production areas, ensuring that all operations adhere to established procedures and quality standards. You will maintain a continual follow-up program to ensure compliance and monitor the quality of both incoming and outgoing work within the department. In this position, you will be tasked with planning and scheduling staffing requirements to meet specific quality standards and production objectives. You will provide direction and support to shift supervisors and production teams, fostering a profitable and cohesive production operation. Analyzing workflow, yields, manpower requirements, production restraints, and quality issues will be essential to your role, as you will identify problems and develop solutions to continually improve operations. You will be responsible for providing routine reports to management on process and production variances, along with action plans aimed at continuous improvement. Supporting customer service directly and implementing Lean Six Sigma projects will also be part of your duties. As a safety steward, you will ensure that safety remains the top priority in all operations. Mentoring a team of supervisors and promoting a people-first culture will be key to your leadership approach. Additionally, you will prepare written performance evaluations and discuss progress with appropriate supervisors, providing direct support, feedback, and training to first shift supervisors and group leads.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor workflow in production areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing both exempt and hourly employees in fast-paced manufacturing environments required.
  • Optical Industry production management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent process control knowledge and a track record in reducing process variability and improving process yields through utilization of lean and/or six sigma methodologies.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
