About the position

As the PVC Extrusion Plant Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production operations in our PVC decking extrusion facility. This includes ensuring production schedules are met, maintaining quality standards, optimizing efficiency, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the PVC extrusion plant that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to achieve production targets and meet customer demands. Your role will involve coordinating production activities, including line set according to schedule, material, and manpower allocation. In addition to production management, you will ensure adherence to quality control standards throughout the production process. You will implement measures to continuously improve product quality and consistency. Upholding safety regulations and procedures will be a critical part of your responsibilities, as you will create a safe working environment by conducting regular safety audits and implementing corrective actions as needed. As a leader, you will motivate a team of production staff, including supervisors and operators, providing coaching and development opportunities to enhance team performance and skills. You will also identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste, implementing lean manufacturing principles and practices to optimize production processes. Inventory management will be another key aspect of your role, as you will work with the planning group to manage schedule compliance to ensure inventory levels meet production requirements while minimizing excess stock. Collaboration with procurement and logistics teams will be essential to ensure the timely supply of materials. You will work closely with maintenance, engineering, and quality assurance teams to resolve production issues and maintain equipment reliability. Additionally, you will manage production budgets and expenses to achieve cost-effective operations, implementing cost-saving initiatives while maintaining production efficiency and quality standards. Analyzing production data and metrics will help you identify areas for improvement, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in PVC extrusion manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Proven track record of successful production management, including experience in managing a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
• Strong understanding of PVC extrusion processes, equipment, and quality control principles.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively manage a diverse team and foster a positive work environment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing software.

Benefits

• Annual salary ranging from $110,000 to $125,000 depending on market and experience, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
