About the position

The Manager of Programs, M3 - Deputy Chief Engineer at Northrop Grumman is responsible for overseeing technical performance and execution of advanced programs within the Launch Vehicles business unit. This role involves providing technical oversight, ensuring compliance with internal and customer requirements, and leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve mission success. The position requires on-site support in Chandler, AZ, and involves collaboration with program management and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and deliver customer requirements effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Advanced Programs Chief Engineer with technical oversight of multiple programs.
  • Co-lead the development and execution of technical reviews.
  • Partner with Program PEMs and Chief Engineers to achieve efficient engineering solutions.
  • Ensure subsystem and supporting technology development achieves program success.
  • Maintain working relationships with the Customer, providing timely communication and resolving technical questions.
  • Guide teams preparing for flight operations with rapid review of change engineering.
  • Deliver quick resolution of non-conformances and lead failure investigations.
  • Implement prioritized Digital Transformation efforts as directed by the LV business unit.
  • Coordinate and perform internal reviews like ERB, CCB, IFRR and design reviews.
  • Support Flight operations as Program CE at offsite locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Engineering degree plus 9 years of experience; Master's of Science Engineering degree plus 7 years of experience is required.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application.
  • Experience with tactical weapon missile systems including design, test, integration, and field operations.
  • Minimum of 9 years of directly related experience with evidence of technical leadership.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication excellence with customers and management.
  • Exceptional leadership of a multi-disciplined team.
  • Thorough understanding of design standards, procurement processes, and configuration management.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and mitigate risk.
  • Multi-disciplinary engineering experience or system engineering experience.
