Johnson & Johnson is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Manager, Project and Portfolio Management based in Irvine, CA. The Manager, Project and Portfolio Management, will support the Cardiovascular business consisting of four diverse business units, including Electrophysiology, Breast Aesthetics, Neurovascular, and Reprocessing. They will work closely with the Supply Chain Leadership Team to drive prioritization and tradeoff decision-making for the critical project portfolio while being committed to delivering innovative products, solutions, and programs to address unmet customer and patient needs worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the Cardiovascular Platform and Functional Project and Portfolio Management processes in collaboration with Supply Chain, Finance, and Business Unit partners.
  • Support creation of annual financial business planning cycles as well as Long Range Financial Planning and recurring forecasts.
  • Facilitate project reviews and approvals through the monthly CSS Group - Capital Review Committee (CRC).
  • Drive a regular cadence of business and project reviews linked with the business priorities to support Capital allocation.
  • Coordinate with the leads for connected business management processes (Capital, Expense Savings & Performance Management) to develop ongoing reporting and update processes for the E2E LT and define and identify critical issues.
  • Supervise and report progress vs. financial commitments through portfolio analytics, drive actions and accountability across the SC to ensure project portfolio is executed versus Business Plan.
  • Lead development of updates, communications, presentations, analyses, and reports in support of each Platform E2E LT.
  • Deploy system solutions and tools (e.g., PowerBI) to enable and support PPM processes, provide training, ensure data accuracy, drive compliance, and support day-to-day system usage working with multi-function stakeholders.
  • Own the deploys enhanced governance of portfolio management process, including finding opportunities for continuous improvements, prioritization, and value creation.
  • Creating and reinforcing standard and maintaining a repository of Project portfolio, submissions and approvals (ie SharePoint, …)

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree required; focused degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting or other equivalent field preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant and progressive business experience is required, with 3-5 years of direct Project and Portfolio Management experience preferred.
  • Outstanding analytical skills to analyze complex data and translate it into meaningful items at the strategic and tactical levels are required.
  • Proven success in clearly and concisely communicating across all levels of the organizations within an end-to-end Supply Chain is required.
  • Ability to lead and influence others in a complex matrix organization is required.
  • Understanding the process excellence toolset (LEAN, Six Sigma) with a proven record of deploying these tools to improve operational performance is preferred.
  • Process excellence certification and/or Six Sigma black belt certifications and/or PMP certifications preferred.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in FDA or other regulated environments
  • Familiarity with J&J Project Management approaches (FPX, DRIVE, & Project Delivery Process)
  • Experience managing portfolio of projects of over $100M in Capital allocation
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent accreditation (Agile, SCRUM, …)
  • MBA or advanced degree in engineering, business, finance, or accounting
  • Certifications in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, …)
