The Manager - Project Controls (M-PC) at Duke Energy is responsible for leading and managing the Project Controls function within an assigned Business Unit. This managerial role involves overseeing project control assignments, ensuring compliance with enterprise policies, and providing analysis and communication of project performance. The M-PC position requires advanced evaluation and synthesis of data related to projects, programs, and portfolios, necessitating strong expertise in project controls principles and software tools.

  • Establish Project Controls Organization (Unit/Group) by developing systems, processes, and staffing models.
  • Lead development and generation of periodic project controls communications and ensure quality presentations.
  • Assure excellence in project/program change control by managing changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Oversee project controls benchmarking and self-assessment initiatives to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead development and maintenance of systems for project controls methodologies including WBS, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Maintain effective relationships with customers to support resolution of project/program controls issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Project Management, Engineering, Business or related discipline AND 7+ years related work experience.
  • In lieu of Bachelor's degree, High School/GED AND 11+ years related work experience.
  • Master's degree in Project Management, Business, Finance or related discipline.
  • 10+ years related work experience in addition to desired degree.
  • AACE-CEP and/or AACE-CCC and/or AACE-EVP and/or AACE-PSP certifications.
