About the position

The Project Purchasing Manager at AESC will act as the primary liaison between the purchasing department and production teams, overseeing all procurement activities related to specific projects. This role involves developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to meet project goals, particularly in the context of high-performance battery manufacturing for electric vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategy by collaborating with plant director and stakeholders to identify required materials, equipment, and services.
  • Engage early in project proposals by participating in project kickoffs and regular meetings to define procurement scopes and provide updates on procurement activities.
  • Utilize procurement resources by working closely with commodity buyers to analyze scope and identify potential suppliers, evaluating supplier capabilities, quality, pricing, and participating in negotiations.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely issuance of technical documents according to the execution plan.
  • Manage project purchasing risks by identifying and monitoring procurement and supply chain risks, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Monitor supplier delivery status and performance, conducting periodic evaluations to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities by continuously assessing purchasing processes for potential improvements and implementing strategies to streamline procurement.
  • Address and resolve any claims or disputes from suppliers to maintain effective project flow.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, project management, construction, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in project procurement or purchasing, preferably in construction or engineering.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Team-oriented, results-driven, and adaptable, with the capacity to drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Understanding of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards (training provided).
  • Understanding of ISO14001 environmental standards (training provided).

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP Certification is preferred.
