About the position

The Manager, Project Re-entry position at Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina involves overseeing the daily operations of Re-entry Specialists, focusing on coaching and developing participants who are re-entering the workforce. The role emphasizes building partnerships with local businesses to create job opportunities, providing essential training and support to participants, and ensuring effective communication and reporting with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day work of Re-entry Specialists, including performance evaluations and coaching.
  • Form partnerships with businesses to create work sites for participants.
  • Coach participants on employment requirements, job search, and interview skills.
  • Coordinate presentations from outside agencies to provide relevant information to participants.
  • Create and provide reports to management and partner agencies as needed.
  • Develop individual goals and employment plans with participants based on assessments and case notes.
  • Document contacts with businesses and report outcomes periodically.
  • Conduct initial meetings and intake paperwork with participants.
  • Interview prospective participants to assess eligibility for programs.
  • Make business contacts to form partnerships for work sites.
  • Obtain necessary authorizations and records.
  • Conduct orientations and tours for participants.
  • Monitor and order office supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department to publicize programs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience as a provider or partner agency to the prison system preferred.
  • Training, coaching, supervisory, or instructional experience preferred.
  • Sales or customer service experience is helpful.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook required.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid NC Driver's License, insurance, and safety inspection.
  • Experience working with the justice-involved population is a must.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching or instructional roles.
  • Familiarity with community resources and support services.
