About the position

The Manager of Public Relations & Social Strategy at Squaremouth will play a crucial role in enhancing the company's public image and establishing it as a leader in the travel insurance industry. This position involves developing and implementing strategic external communications, managing social media strategies, and creating engaging content to promote the brand and increase customer awareness.

Responsibilities

• Identify key public relations contacts and opportunities
• Secure media placement in trade and business publications
• Interact successfully, build relationships, and influence national and local media representatives, reporters, and editors
• Build out editorial content strategies based on industry events and consumer trends
• Research, draft, distribute, and pitch content to key media targets
• Execute frequent, engaging press releases, from concept to completion
• Act as company representative, speaking confidently and informatively to media
• Communicate concisely and translate complicated topics into lay language
• Create brand initiatives and campaigns on all social media platforms
• Analyze and report on results, establishing improvements
• Maintain awareness of current events and industry changes to develop relevant content

Requirements

• 5+ years in PR, marketing, agency, or relevant experience required
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent
• 3+ years of social media management experience including video production and editing experience
• Experience using Cision, Meltwater, WordPress, Excel, Figma and social scheduling apps a plus
• Able to handle constructive criticism and accept different points of view and feedback
