About the position

The Public Relations Manager at PetSmart plays a crucial role in shaping and executing the company's public relations strategy. This position involves managing relationships with internal business partners and an agency team to enhance the company's storytelling through strategic media relations initiatives. Responsibilities

• Develop and execute PetSmart's overarching PR strategy including product, consumer, business, and thought leadership efforts.
• Ideate and develop creative campaigns and pitch angles to secure positive media coverage.
• Manage day-to-day PR strategy and collaborate with PR agency partners and internal teams.
• Write and edit PR materials including plans, press releases, and media pitches.
• Oversee integrated PR campaigns and coordinate with internal teams on creative development and consumer surveys.
• Identify trends and opportunities for positive media stories that highlight the brand and business differentiators.
• Support thought leadership opportunities for PetSmart's executives.
• Provide media guidance to internal teams and analyze PR campaign performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• 4-7 years of experience in public relations with a focus on consumer and business media relations.
• Proven success in securing media coverage across top-tier consumer publications.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Exceptional media relations skills and understanding of the evolving media landscape.
