About the position

The PR Manager will be responsible for driving Great Wolf's earned media strategy, assisting in crisis communication, and supporting internal communications efforts. The role requires a quick understanding of Great Wolf's business and culture, establishing strong relationships with internal teams and external PR partners.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Great Wolf Resort's third party social media influencer program, securing influencer coverage and evaluating effectiveness.
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day relationship with regional PR agencies.
  • Write and edit news releases, advisories, VNR copy, captions, and executive remarks as assigned.
  • Project manage PR initiatives and campaigns.
  • Research, compile, and maintain media lists.
  • Track coverage across print, broadcast, internet, and social media, developing measurement tools for PR initiatives.
  • Maintain the GWR online press room and handle media inquiries.
  • Coordinate media interviews, stays, familiarization tours, and onsite media events.
  • Develop compelling story angles and experiential opportunities aligned with messaging strategy.
  • Assist in the development and execution of large scale media events and partnerships.
  • Craft key messages, talking points, and executive briefs for media interviews or events.
  • Liaise with other departments to identify storytelling opportunities for the brand.
  • Serve on the Crisis Communications Response team and assist with updates to the crisis communication plan.
  • Promote Corporate Social Responsibility efforts through earned media.
  • Develop and maintain a video and photo library for ongoing usage.
  • Assist in producing content for various media applications and events.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key media members.
  • Assist the VP of Corporate Communications with assigned duties.
  • Promote a safe and professional workplace by adhering to policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Journalism/Public Relations/Communications or related field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5 years of consumer-focused media relations or communications experience, preferably in tourism or hospitality.
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Unblemished record of confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain media contacts/relationships.
  • Track record of success in planning and coordinating special events and media relations.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Products and desktop publishing software.
  • Familiarity with social influencer research.
