About the position

The position involves directing all activities related to centralized procurement, materials management optimization, and supplier diversity program. The role requires establishing department objectives that align with the strategic direction of the company's procurement, materials management, and supplier diversity program. Responsibilities include managing the implementation and execution of the supplier diversity strategy, directing company purchase agents, determining global material supply and demand requirements, and leading the implementation of technology solutions to streamline purchasing and warehouse operations. The position also involves evaluating information related to national and global markets, preparing performance metric reports, and overseeing vendor sourcing and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all activities related to centralized procurement and materials management optimization.
  • Establish department objectives that align with the strategic direction of the company's procurement, materials management, and supplier diversity program.
  • Develop policy recommendations and implement procedures consistent with established strategies.
  • Manage the implementation and execution of the supplier diversity strategy for the enterprise.
  • Direct company purchase agents engaged in material supply and inventory management activities.
  • Determine global company material supply and demand requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor performance goals and objectives.
  • Lead the implementation of technology solutions to streamline purchasing and warehouse operations.
  • Evaluate and interpret information related to national and global markets.
  • Research, compile, and prepare performance metric reports.
  • Direct fair and diverse vendor sourcing, bidding, negotiating, and awarding processes.
  • Provide oversight to management and employees regarding purchasing and materials procedures.

Requirements

  • Preferred bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • Experience with management of purchasing and materials management.
  • Experience monitoring, assessing, and prioritizing material supply operations.
  • Experience developing and implementing purchasing procedures.
  • Experience in use of office equipment including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience with ERP Purchasing and Inventory Management modules.
  • Experience with application of math, algebraic formulas, and statistics.
  • Experience in materials management, inventory control, and distribution logistics.
  • Experience in purchasing functions and strategies.
  • Experience in inventory planning and coordination.
  • Experience in plant management of natural gas meter testing.
  • Experience reading and interpreting operational results.
  • Experience researching and preparing reports and agreements.
  • Experience interacting, advising, negotiating, and communicating.
  • Supervise, direct, and train employees.
  • Develop information, conduct meetings, and make presentations.
  • Read and write fluently in English.
  • Minimum applicable driver's license.
