About the position

The Purchasing Manager at REV-O is responsible for overseeing the Purchasing department, ensuring efficient operations for the timely arrival of parts and supplies. This role involves planning, organizing, and monitoring purchasing activities while fostering effective communication and collaboration within the team and with vendors. The Purchasing Manager will also lead initiatives to drive business results and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure systems and processes are in place for effective communications.
• Facilitate activities and strategies related to delivering necessary business results.
• Provide coaching/mentoring to buyers, enhancing their leadership skills and ensuring adherence to purchasing policies and procedures.
• Negotiate vendor contracts and conduct make/buy analysis.
• Successfully manage people at various levels to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Promote the use of lean manufacturing, six sigma, and continuous improvement tools as part of the culture.
• Partner with leadership team members to execute initiatives and projects aligned with the strategic business plan.
• Monitor and participate in all aspects of vendor evaluations.
• Coordinate bidding/quoting activities to ensure consolidated purchasing power for the entire company.
• Actively participate in driving business results as a member of the site leadership team.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements

• Familiarity with the automotive supply base and basic cost modeling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Business Suites and/or Lotus.
• Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate instructions and correspondence in English.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Ability to recognize and reproduce expected quality standards.
• Effective presentation skills in one-on-one and small group situations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SAP MRP purchasing systems.
