The Purchasing Manager at Trumbull Regional Medical Center plays a crucial role in supporting the corporate mission, vision, and values of the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the functions and services of Distribution & Logistics across Ohio Steward, ensuring that the materials distribution process is efficient and effective. The Purchasing Manager will direct quality control functions for materials distribution and work closely with the Corporate and Hospital CFO on cost containment programs. This role requires strategic planning, development, and implementation of goals and objectives that align with Steward Health's strategic plan. In addition to managing the distribution of materials, the Purchasing Manager will interface with Department Managers to understand their supply requirements and recommend operating and capital budgets while monitoring the allocation of resources. The position also involves implementing and maintaining inventory control procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory, legislative, and accreditation standards, and acting as a liaison and consultant on operations, policies, procedures, and services provided by Distribution for all departments. The Purchasing Manager is also responsible for the safety and maintenance of equipment and the safety of personnel. This includes selecting qualified and competent department staff to provide quality services, preparing work schedules, and completing performance appraisals in a timely manner. The role is dynamic and may involve performing other related duties as assigned, reflecting the general duties necessary to describe the principal functions of the job.
