About the position

The Manager of RCM Business Operations at Vituity plays a crucial role in transforming healthcare by overseeing vendor performance, managing self-pay accounts, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This position involves collaboration with senior management to develop corrective action plans, monitor financial performance, and implement strategies to improve cash flow. The manager will also provide leadership to a team of specialists, ensuring high standards of productivity and quality while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and report on vendor performance by reviewing collection and RCM Operational Reports.
  • Interface with Vendors on bad debt collection efforts, compile metrics, prepare operational reports, resolve issues, and answer questions.
  • Responsible for preparation and facilitation of Vendor conference calls and/or site visits.
  • Identify financial performance, team structure, and other areas needing improvement and work collaboratively with Director of Operations or Sr. Management in developing corrective action plans.
  • Responsible for implementation of plans.
  • Work with Director of Operations or Sr. Management in the preparation of short-term plans and budgets based on company goals and growth objectives, including productivity and audit standards.
  • Facilitate the implementation of patient self-pay and bad debt collection processes, organization-wide programs, and initiatives.
  • Monitor Self Pay Aging reports and adjust strategies to improve cash flow.
  • Work with Compliance to ensure rules and regulations that affect patient self-pay collection efforts are compliant.
  • Evaluation and implementation of new collection vendors.
  • Provide support to Information Technology staff in resolving system and vendor issues.
  • Escalate issues to Director of Operations or Sr. Management in the resolution of vendor, patient, or personnel challenges.
  • Participate in workgroups with internal and external departments for efficiency gains or problem resolution.
  • Schedule and carry out occasional day and overnight travel for the company, not exceeding 5% of time.
  • Provide leadership and development to Supervisors, Account Receivable Specialists, and Project Analysts.
  • Monitor workflow of assigned teams and coordinate necessary labor among teams as needed.
  • Participate in disciplinary actions of team members and ensure proper documentation is prepared.
  • Facilitate development of team building; foster trust, respect, conflict resolution, and maintain positive morale.
  • Assist with and review the auditing of team members' work to ensure production and quality standards are met.
  • Work with Training Department to formulate training workshops and monitor team members' progress.
  • Ensure team members are always cross trained to guarantee coverage in all areas.
  • Conduct Performance Evaluations.
  • Maintain staff within established FTE ratio budgets set by senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Care Management, Business Administration, or similar field required.
  • Four years' minimum Management experience with self-pay (patient) accounts receivable experience required.
  • Vendor management experience required.
  • Experience working at a Collections agency preferred.
  • Experience working in the Medical Billing field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Bad Debt collections.
  • Skilled with Microsoft O365 or Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Ability to analyze various types of reports.
  • Ability to use creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing a project from design through execution and implementation.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial information and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries and complaints from patients, vendors, or regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative, and cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to remain organized and effectively manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and compliance.
  • Must possess a valid driver license and have current auto insurance and/or ability to provide reliable transportation for company travel.
