About the position

The Manager of Regional Operations is responsible for overseeing multiple functional areas within a designated region, including Line, Gas, Meter, Substation, and Field Customer Service. This role involves providing leadership and direction to achieve operational goals, ensuring safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction while managing resources effectively. The position requires extensive interaction with various stakeholders, including the public, contractors, and local government, and involves significant travel throughout the region.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement annual business plans including O&M and Capital budgets.
  • Monitor ongoing progress and reallocate resources as necessary to ensure goal achievement.
  • Oversee and evaluate work processes and implement process improvements.
  • Create a climate of innovation by encouraging ideas for process improvement.
  • Select, train, and develop personnel, guiding and appraising their work.
  • Coordinate key contract bids and awards with Procurement.
  • Research and resolve invoice processing and payments with Finance and Procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and safe work procedures.
  • Oversee and participate in service restoration processes during emergencies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional problem solving and resolve employee, labor, and customer relations issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent required.
  • Managerial and leadership skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Prior experience with project management preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to administer budgets, contracts, and performance management goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with utility professionals across the company.
  • Ability to develop and manage a safe work environment.
  • Leadership experience in a union environment preferred.
