About the position

The Manager, Regional Security at Rocket Lab is responsible for leading the delivery of physical security services to protect the company's assets, including premises, possessions, people, and infrastructure. This role focuses on tactical preparedness, readiness, and responsiveness, fostering a positive team culture while ensuring gold standard security across regional facilities. The position is based on-site at either Middle River, MD or Wallops Island, VA, and involves overseeing security operations, systems, and personnel.

Responsibilities

• Lead physical security monitoring and response operations at regional Rocket Lab facilities.
• Ownership of security systems including CCTV, access control, and intruder detection systems.
• Leadership, training, and supervision of the Contract Security Officer teams and Rocket Lab personnel.
• Implementation of physical security requirements including policy review and compliance.
• Evaluate security threats, coordinate responses, and prepare written reports.
• Maintain security processes and procedures including visitor control and launch services.
• Assist with the implementation of new policies and procedures in support of various programs.
• Support Global Program Security in developing and delivering enterprise security training.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of security industry experience or high school diploma and 12+ years of security industry experience.
• 5+ years of proven experience in security industry direct line management.
• Proficient in the use of digital tools including Microsoft Suite and physical security industry suites.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US government.
• A valid driver's license.
• Experience leading risk assessment, incident management, and investigations.
• Experience in team building, cross-functional team leadership, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality in sensitive roles.

Nice-to-haves

• Currently possesses active TS/SCI clearance.
• Security experience in classified space structures transportation and launch services.
• Specialized training in Use of Force, threat assessment, emergency management, and response.
• Military or law enforcement training and experience.
• Certifications or advanced experience programming or troubleshooting access control and CCTV systems.
• Experience in a start-up environment.
