About the position

As the Manager of Research Charge Analysis at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the research billing review process within the Clinical Research Finance department. This fully remote position allows you to lead a team of Research Charge Analysts, ensuring that all billing activities are conducted with accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Your leadership will be crucial in managing the recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and overall operations of your team. You will also be responsible for leading compliance efforts, which include conducting audits, providing training, and staying abreast of regulatory changes to mitigate risks associated with research billing operations. In this role, you will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to optimize the research billing review process. Your ability to communicate effectively and build trusting relationships will be essential as you work to enhance operational efficiency and ensure adherence to clinical research protocols, budgets, contracts, and Medicare coverage analysis. This position not only requires a strong background in charge review and clinical trials but also demands critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate the complexities of research billing and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the revenue cycle management process, particularly in the context of hospital and physician billing. Responsibilities

  • Oversee research billing review in Epic to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Manage a team of Research Charge Analysts, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and operations management.
  • Lead compliance efforts through auditing, training, and staying updated on regulatory changes, mitigating risks in research billing operations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize research billing review.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years experience in charge review, clinical trials, research billing, revenue cycle management, hospital and physician billing, Medicare coverage analysis, and/or Epic.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Outstanding communication and self-awareness.
  • Mentorship and coaching abilities to support staff development.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Attention to detail to monitor and maintain compliance.
  • Adaptability and resilience to lead change and innovation.
