About the position

The Manager, Research (RN) at the University of Miami is responsible for overseeing daily clinical administrative functions and managing staff within the Department of OBGYN. This role ensures effective interactions with investigators and the efficient execution of research projects, while also managing participant appointments and clinical staffing needs. The manager develops clinical standard operating procedures, reports incidents, conducts staff training, and maintains research inventory, all while ensuring compliance with university policies and protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily clinical administrative functions and management of staff.
  • Ensure effective interactions with investigators and timely execution of research projects.
  • Manage scheduling of participant appointments and clinical staffing needs.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to clinical standard operating procedures.
  • Report incidents and emergencies to upper management in a timely manner.
  • Conduct staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Supervise and maintain research supply and equipment inventory.
  • Generate performance evaluations and propose disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Develop protocol needs assessments and monitor quality assurance protocols.
  • Assist study teams in drafting orders for research visits.
  • Establish and assess internal controls and compliance with university policies.
  • Train employees on controls and university policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; BSN in nursing preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate, and supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
