About the position

The Manager - Research Software Engineering is a key leadership role within the Research Technology Application Solutions team at Stanford Health Care. This position is responsible for managing and developing high-performing software engineering teams that deliver impactful software solutions to support the research needs of Stanford Medicine. The role involves overseeing project management, optimizing software development processes, and ensuring effective communication between technical teams and stakeholders. Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6 years of experience with software development in multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 6 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and managing software engineering teams.
• Deep technical expertise in software development principles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps).
• Strong strategic thinking and vision to implement software engineering initiatives.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
