About the position

Our client is adding a net-new member to its established originations team, who will help lead and grow the research function. This firm employs a next-level thinking approach with a great heritage of pushing the envelope on growth and efficiency through its originations and business development strategies. The Research Manager will be responsible for performing industry research, coming up with new investment ideas, building investment theses, and eventually begin to manage this research team by being responsible for overall performance. The ideal candidate will have exposure to commercial due diligence projects or market research, managerial experience/aptitude, and a desire to be in a research role long term (note: this is not a stepping stone to an investing seat).

Responsibilities

• Perform industry research to identify trends and opportunities.
• Develop new investment ideas and build investment theses.
• Manage the research team and oversee overall performance.
• Collaborate with the originations team to support business development strategies.
• Conduct commercial due diligence projects and market research.

Requirements

• Experience in industry research and market analysis.
• Exposure to commercial due diligence projects.
• Managerial experience or aptitude.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Desire to remain in a research role long-term.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in private equity or investment management.
• Familiarity with financial modeling and valuation techniques.
