About the position

The Manager, Retail Business Planning is responsible for overseeing recurring process-oriented activities such as monthly and quarterly reporting, analysis, invoicing, and related ad-hoc projects to support Retail Budget Owners. This role requires a strong understanding of the Retail business and involves managing a small team to optimize data-driven insights for decision-making. The position emphasizes building relationships with stakeholders across various departments and leading efforts to standardize and enhance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis for Retail Budget Owners.
  • Manage invoicing and related ad-hoc projects in support of Retail Budget Owners.
  • Lead cyclical processes such as annual planning, target-setting, budget-setting, forecasting, and financial reporting in partnership with Finance.
  • Facilitate the development of new processes in Retail through collaboration with Finance.
  • Conduct targeted analyses on high-priority topics to support financial and operational execution of Retail strategies.
  • Leverage scenario modeling to inform Retail Business Unit strategy and planning.
  • Analyze and interpret information to communicate the Retail financial and strategic story effectively.
  • Maintain driver-based expense and forecast models, including headcount tracking and forecasts.
  • Analyze underlying information trends to inform business and financial forecasts.
  • Support business decisions through analysis of operational and behavioral metrics.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Economics, Finance, or a similar discipline with an analytical bias.
  • 7+ years of experience in a corporate finance/FP&A/Expense Modeling environment with a strong emphasis on analytics.
  • Strong background in finance with considerable analytical skills.
  • Proficient in financial modeling and reporting, particularly using Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Smartview, and Onestream.
  • Experience supporting strategic and financial initiatives.

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, particularly insurance.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage relationships across all levels and provide consultative partnership.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
