About the position

The Manager, Revenue Accounting at Axon is responsible for overseeing the accounting of revenue from customers, including the management of third-party vendor costs and professional services. This role involves ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, managing the close cycle, and fostering effective cross-functional relationships. The position requires strong leadership skills to develop a growing team and optimize processes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting of revenue from customers, including third-party vendor costs and professional services.
• Manage the overall close cycle, controls, reporting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for accurate COGS recognition.
• Collaborate with Sales, Commercial Controllership, and FP&A for timely revenue reporting.
• Support internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
• Develop a deep understanding of the lead-to-cash cycle and its impact on revenue recognition.
• Implement policies and procedures to facilitate an effective revenue close cycle.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and productivity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, with 2+ years of direct people management.
• CPA or equivalent preferred, with a deep understanding of ASC 606 and ASC 340.
• Public company experience subject to SOX regulation, preferably with technology companies.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality and results-driven outcomes.
• Proven ability to enhance operational technologies and solutions for scaling.
