About the position

The Manager, Revenue Accounting is responsible for overseeing the accounting of revenue from customers, including the management of third-party vendor costs and professional services. This role involves ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, managing the close cycle, and fostering effective cross-functional relationships. The position requires strong leadership skills to develop a growing team and optimize processes in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accounting of revenue from customers and third-party vendor costs.
  • Manage the accounting of professional services, including timing of recognition and presentation.
  • Lead the overall close cycle, controls, reporting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Develop and coach a team responsible for accurate COGS recognition.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Commercial Controllership, and FP&A for timely revenue reporting.
  • Support internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
  • Understand the lead-to-cash cycle and its impact on revenue recognition.
  • Draft and implement policies to facilitate an efficient revenue close cycle.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and systems for scalability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting.
  • 2+ years of direct people management experience.
  • CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • Deep understanding of ASC 606 and ASC 340.
  • Public company experience subject to SOX regulation, preferably in technology companies.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality.
  • History of implementing operational technologies for scaling.
  • Proven ability to improve the financial close process.
  • Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with RevStream, Salesforce, and Dynamics 365.
  • Ability to problem solve day-to-day issues affecting multiple stakeholders.
