The Manager of Revenue Accounting at Montana-Dakota Utilities is responsible for ensuring that safety is the top priority in all day-to-day operations. This role involves providing leadership and direction for the Revenue Accounting department, implementing and directing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, and other regulatory rules. The manager will oversee all aspects of the revenue accounting department, which includes hiring, training, productivity management, and ensuring accuracy in all accounting processes. A key responsibility of this position is to ensure that accurate bills are generated for all utility customers and various construction projects. The manager will also oversee payment processing activities for all invoices, ensuring timely and accurate posting. This role acts as a liaison between Field Operations, IT, Accounting, and Customer Service to resolve billing inquiries, system changes, and account reconciliations. The manager will supervise the Revenue Accounting department, which includes utility billing, payment processing, CC&B configuration, CC&B testing, meter reading, JDE Accounts Receivable, and handling bankruptcies. In addition to these responsibilities, the manager will assist in resolving billing and payment discrepancies reported through the billing system or exception reports. They will oversee the JDE Accounts Receivable module for all utility group companies, ensuring proper maintenance and reconciliation of relevant JDE ledgers. The manager will also manage and review CC&B configuration, which includes billing rates, custom code, and base functionality, and oversee CC&B testing to ensure the system functions according to business requirements and technical design. Other tasks and special projects may be assigned as needed.
