The Manager of Revenue Analytics at Vox Media plays a crucial role in organizing, visualizing, and comprehending advertising revenue to drive business growth through actionable insights and data-driven solutions. This position is integral to Vox Media's Revenue organization, which manages advertising and marketing partnerships with brands and agencies, as well as consumer revenue and commerce lines across the organization. In this role, the Manager of Revenue Analytics will maintain accurate weekly revenue forecasts for advertising revenue, ensuring precision at the product, category, sales team, and editorial brand levels. The manager will oversee the development and maintenance of always-on dashboards that inform stakeholders across various lines of business, including direct media, content, audio, and programmatic sectors. Ensuring data accuracy and consistency within databases is paramount, which involves close collaboration with account management and sales teams on data entry in CRM and order management systems. The manager will also build and update long-term supply models that track changes in inventory availability and yield across digital, audio, and video channels. Additionally, the Manager will participate in annual budgeting, goal setting, and quotas, utilizing market research, internal investments, trends, and qualitative insights from accounts and agencies. Supporting revenue leadership in evaluating investment cases, business initiatives, and sales incentives is also a key responsibility. The role includes participation in ad hoc cross-functional projects, collaborating with Editorial Analytics, Finance, Data Science, and Revenue Product teams on company priorities. Furthermore, the manager will educate and train revenue teams on utilizing revenue data tools to enhance information accessibility and empower analyses across the organization. This position also involves providing leadership and guidance to one direct report, focusing on performance management, development, and goal setting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate weekly revenue forecasts for advertising revenue, including at the product, category, sales team and editorial brand level
  • Oversee development & maintenance of always-on dashboards to inform stakeholders across all lines of business (direct media, content, audio & programmatic), editorial brands and sales teams
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency within our databases via categorization, classification as well as working closely with account management teams & sales teams on data entry in CRM & order management systems
  • Build & update long-term supply models tracking changes in inventory availability & yield across digital, audio & video channels
  • Participate in annual budgeting, goal setting, and quotas, utilizing market research, internal investments & trends, and qualitative account & agency knowledge
  • Support revenue leadership to evaluate investment cases, business initiatives, sales incentives and other strategic considerations
  • Participate in ad hoc cross functional projects, partnering with Editorial Analytics, Finance, Data Science and Revenue Product on company priorities

Requirements

  • BA/BS with strong academic record
  • 4+ years of digital media experience, preferably in an analytical role (FP&A, analytics)
  • Advanced Excel knowledge (including GSuite)
  • Experience with Business intelligence / visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Chartio, etc.)
  • SQL knowledge is a plus
  • High-level communication skills, experience with exec level reporting and one-to-many presenting & team project management
  • Knowledge of ad operations, ad serving, or familiarity with Salesforce, Operative, GAM, Megaphone, or Google Analytics a plus
  • Strong organizational agility, cultural & operational connector and problem solver
