About the position

The Manager of Revenue Cycle Systems at Nicklaus Children's Hospital is responsible for overseeing the IT Revenue Cycle Systems team, which includes managing activities related to various systems such as Cerner Patient Accounting and Revenue Cycle. This role involves planning, directing, and controlling the systems to meet financial data needs, collaborating with vendors and IT staff, and developing the annual budget and goals for the team in alignment with the overall IT EMR department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage activities related to the IT Revenue Cycle Systems team, including planning, direction, and control of systems.
  • Coordinate the analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and maintenance of software.
  • Ensure design specification requirements are met and prepare complete test plans.
  • Establish communication standards regarding the status of problems, enhancements, and development projects.
  • Hire and evaluate qualified staff, providing support and guidance for their development.
  • Create an annual financial systems plan in conjunction with the Director or Executive Director.
  • Maintain a formal tracking process for projects and ensure effective information systems services to clients.
  • Maintain relationships with NCHS leaders and vendors to understand new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related major.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience managing a team of 3 or more.
  • 7 years of experience supporting healthcare revenue cycle systems.
  • Experience in setting policies, procedures, and equipment standards.
  • Project management experience with a solid understanding of milestones and resource scheduling.

  • Strong analytical skills to resolve complex application systems problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
