About the position

The Bastian Solutions Robotics Applications Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the applications team, overseeing all facets of Application Engineering and Solution Development. This role involves collaboration with marketing for strategic planning, managing customer accounts, and guiding Application and Account Engineers. The position requires strong communication, leadership, organization, and technical skills, and reports directly to the Director of Applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the applications team and oversee Application Engineering and Solution Development.
• Collaborate with marketing to produce literature and strategic market planning.
• Manage existing customer accounts and assist in penetrating new accounts.
• Mentor new Application Engineers and provide positive reinforcement to existing team members.
• Review and approve all designs, proposals, and estimates delivered to customers by the applications group.
• Analyze opportunities to determine appropriate margins for projects and coordinate with staff.
• Perform annual performance evaluations for direct reports in the Applications Group.
• Ensure innovative and cost-effective solutions for customers are developed early in the process.
• Maintain a positive and enthusiastic culture within the team.
• Complete all administrative tasks and paperwork in a timely manner.

Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering required; Master's Degree in Business or Engineering or P.E. is a plus.
• Ability to lead and inspire team members to maximize their potential.
• Strong technical applications background with proven ability to penetrate new accounts.
• Experience in generating and executing strategic marketing plans.
• Expertise in using and managing CRM systems for solution development activities.
• Strong contributing member of the management staff, offering suggestions and taking on responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in consulting, system design, project management, maintenance, and installation in the robotics field.
• Familiarity with automated solutions for distribution and manufacturing.
