The Bastian Solutions Robotics Applications Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the applications team. This role encompasses overseeing all facets of Application Engineering and Solution Development, while also providing input and assistance to the marketing staff to produce literature, engage in strategic market planning, and penetrate new accounts. The manager will be responsible for the management of existing customer accounts and the general oversight of the Application and Account Engineers. This position requires a close working relationship with the entire management team at Bastian Solutions Robotics, including the Plant Manager, Accounting, Engineering Leads, Integration Manager, and the Manufacturing Manager. Additionally, the Applications Engineering Manager will collaborate closely with other Application Group managers (BAV, BCON & BSCA) and leaders of various sales channels. The success of the Applications Engineering Manager will largely depend on their communication, leadership, organization, and technical skills. The role involves working with both internal (Bastian Solutions) and external customers to continuously improve morale, communication, and working relationships. The manager will mentor new Application Engineers and lead existing ones, using positive reinforcement to build their confidence and self-sufficiency in solution development work. They will also be responsible for reviewing and approving all designs, proposals, and estimates delivered to customers by the applications group, ensuring that all solution development activities are tracked in the CRM system. The Applications Engineering Manager will perform annual performance evaluations for all direct reports in the Applications Group, which includes writing evaluations and charting goals and accomplishments. They will be involved with opportunities early on to ensure the team develops innovative and cost-effective solutions for customers, aiming to meet and exceed customer expectations through superior solutions and communication. The manager will also maintain a clean and organized office area and complete all administrative tasks and paperwork in a timely manner, while being a well-respected and strong leader within the organization.
