As a Manager of Robotics Test Engineering at Symbotic, you will play a pivotal role in the development and validation of our cutting-edge warehouse automation systems. This position requires a hands-on approach, where you will lead a team of Robotic Test Engineers dedicated to ensuring the functional performance and reliability of Symbotic's mobile robots. You will be a key stakeholder in the System Test organization, contributing to the product development process while enhancing our organizational processes, tools, and talent. The System Test organization is a multidisciplinary team focused on validating the performance of Symbotic's warehouse automation systems and maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of test planning and execution, from early-stage new product development initiatives to ongoing improvements of our products in the field. You will be instrumental in testing and implementing improvements, ideas, and inventions that are already in use by some of the nation’s largest retailers, addressing significant global challenges that intersect technology, business, science, and logistics. In this role, you will lead your team to develop comprehensive test strategies and methods that ensure our mobile robot hardware meets and exceeds customer expectations. You will drive team and individual growth through effective coaching and hiring plans, emphasizing complementary skillsets and alignment with partner organizations. Setting high standards for detailed test planning, clarity of metrics, careful data handling, and thorough test reporting will be essential. You will also organize, track, and report the status of test objectives throughout various phases of new product development projects, mapping product function and reliability requirements to test cases and ensuring traceability throughout the product lifecycle. Additionally, you will develop test environments, tools, and capital equipment with a focus on scalability, robustness, and cost-effectiveness, while implementing efficiency and automation in all aspects of the test process and workflows. Your expertise will guide root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions to resolve systemic issues.
