About the position

The Manager of Sales and Customer Experience at Macy's is responsible for leading sales initiatives and enhancing customer service within the store. This role focuses on driving sales, managing a team of colleagues, and ensuring a positive shopping environment for customers. The manager will implement strategies to increase customer loyalty and oversee various operational aspects related to sales support and merchandising.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and exceed sales goals by leading Macy's initiatives through coaching and recognition.
  • Lead customer service in the store, ensuring colleagues engage with customers.
  • Manage all aspects of Selling Support including workload execution and maintaining stockroom standards.
  • Support various managers in completing fulfillment and merchandising tasks as needed.
  • Review Sales and Star Rewards results and strategize for improvement.
  • Motivate colleagues to solicit the Star Rewards Program and recognize their contributions.
  • Build client relationships through customer acquisition initiatives.
  • Plan and execute events and community outreach activities.
  • Monitor and address performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct ongoing Talent Analysis and establish career progression plans for colleagues.
  • Fill open positions prioritizing internal colleagues and manage the hiring process.
  • Utilize check-in processes for colleague development and promotion.
  • Analyze reports to strategize and deliver results, implementing action plans as necessary.
  • Ensure effective sales floor coverage and lead selling initiatives throughout the store.
  • Establish a high level of shortage awareness and ensure policy compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
  • 3-5 years of retail management experience in a department or specialty store.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Exchange.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer relationship management systems.
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising strategies.
  • Familiarity with community outreach programs.
