About the position

The Manager of Sales Compensation - Analytics at Publicis Groupe will play a crucial role in the development and execution of sales compensation plans that align with the company's objectives. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales Compensation Design and Analytics, this position is integral to ensuring that all compensation plans drive the desired behaviors that lead to strong company outcomes. The Manager will be responsible for performing effectiveness analyses of sales compensation plans and leading modeling efforts for any necessary design changes. This role will also involve creating training materials, communication documents, and governance policies to support the sales compensation initiatives. In this highly matrixed organization, the Manager will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including Executive Leadership, HR, Finance, Total Compensation, and Sales Leadership. The position offers an opportunity to influence the direction of the Sales Compensation team's use of analytics, allowing the Manager to lead modeling efforts while utilizing analytics to assess plan effectiveness. The Manager will support the Sales Compensation team in their mission to provide best-in-class sales compensation plan design, contributing to the development of strategies for effective data analysis and reporting. This includes transforming raw data into actionable business insights and presenting findings to Sales Leaders and the COO. The Manager will also be involved in creating and distributing plan calculators, plan documents, and training materials for compensation program rollouts. Additionally, the role includes participating in the issue resolution process for escalated questions regarding incentive compensation plan design and policies, as well as supporting the development and implementation of Compensation Policies in collaboration with Finance, Legal, HR, Sales Operations, and Sales and Client Services Management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of sales compensation plan design to align with company objectives.
  • Perform sales compensation plan effectiveness analysis and lead modeling for plan design changes.
  • Support the creation of training materials, communication documents, and governance documents.
  • Develop and execute sales incentive compensation plan analytics, assessing plan effectiveness and expenses.
  • Contribute to presentations of findings to Sales Leaders and COO.
  • Develop strategies for effective data analysis and reporting, transforming raw data into actionable business insights.
  • Contribute to the development of sales incentive compensation plans that drive growth.
  • Create and distribute plan calculators, plan documents, and training materials for compensation program rollouts.
  • Participate in the issue resolution process for escalated questions concerning incentive compensation plan design and policies.
  • Support the development and implementation of Compensation Policies working with various departments.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of sales compensation experience in design, development, and analytics.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Expert level Microsoft Office skills, particularly in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze situations, evaluate options, and solve problems.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects with aggressive deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • BA/BS in a quantitative major (finance, business, mathematics, statistics).
  • Experience navigating a large, complex organization with multiple revenue channels or sales divisions.
  • Ability to drive process improvements using analytics as a tool.
  • Detail-oriented and strategic mindset, capable of collaborating with Leadership to solve challenges using analytics.
  • Experience with incentive compensation automation tools like Xactly.
