About the position

The Sales Development Manager is responsible for identifying and maximizing profitable sales opportunities within large chain customers or channels. This role involves building strong relationships with customers, developing strategic business plans, and executing promotional strategies to drive sales growth for both the customer and Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize profitable sales opportunities by understanding the complexities of the customer's business.
  • Build enduring relationships based on trust and integrity with the customer's management team.
  • Sell customer plans that include annual CMA's, strategic pricing plans, and promotional plans.
  • Evaluate outlet opportunities and collaboratively sell while overcoming customer objections.
  • Assist customers in reaching sales potential by offering creative merchandising ideas.
  • Handle customer issues and opportunities promptly.
  • Propose appropriate brands, packages, and equipment to satisfy customer needs.
  • Develop customized business plans addressing critical needs of the customer or channel.
  • Collaboratively develop strategic plans that generate desired results for both the customer and Coke system.
  • Execute channel and customer promotions leveraging national brand ideas and consumer insights.
  • Sell-in and implement promotional strategies for new brands and packages.
  • Activate cross-functional team members to develop and implement business plans that meet customer needs.
  • Solve issues during execution and eliminate barriers.
  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly call activity and performance measurements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members such as marketing, finance, and operations.
  • Conduct post-promotional analysis measuring success levels of promotions.
  • Proactively arrange time and territory for optimum face-to-face selling opportunities.
  • Host customer events to align better with the customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a high school diploma required.
  • 3-5 years in the consumer goods industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years in consumer products or direct store delivery sales, major account management.
  • Experience in developing successful annual business plans and pricing for retail customers.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Above average computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record within MVR policy guidelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years' experience in the Coca-Cola system.
  • Intermediate computer and database application skills.
  • Bilingual ability preferred (Spanish).
  • Experience managing budgets.
